What is Acupuncture
Acupuncture, a traditional Chinese medicine practice, involves inserting thin needles into specific points on the body to restore balance and improve energy flow. Complementary techniques such as cupping or moxibustion can enhance its effects, supporting the body’s natural healing process and promoting overall well-being.
Balance Method
The Balance Method, developed by Dr. Richard Tan, is a meridian-based acupuncture technique known for its success in relieving pain by targeting points away from the area of discomfort. This approach is based on the principle that the body’s energy pathways, or meridians, are interconnected, so stimulating one point can balance and heal areas distant from the site of injury.
What To Expect in Your First Consultation
Diagnosis
We begin by discussing your symptoms and overall health to understand the cause of your discomfort. This is done through a detailed consultation and assessment.
Treatment Plan
Based on your diagnosis, we create a personalized treatment plan that’s tailored to your specific needs.
The Sessions
Your acupuncture session begins with needle placement, followed by a check-in to assess changes in pain or discomfort and adjust the treatment if needed. The needles will stay up to 30 minutes, allowing time to relax. Afterward, progress is evaluated, future treatments are discussed.
